Glossary
UltraCart terms you will meet in the documentation and on the UltraCart screens. Where a term has a screen behind it, the last column gives you the page that covers it and the menu path to reach it.
If a term you need is missing, use the Feedback button at the bottom of any page to ask for it.
| Term | Definition | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts Receivable | The screen where you review, edit, or reject an order before it goes to your payment gateway. | Accounts Receivable Home → Order Management → Accounts Receivable |
| Allocate to PO | On the Inventory Update screen, "Allocate to PO" means allocate to a placed order. Everywhere else, PO usually stands for purchase order. | Inventory Update Home → Item Management → Inventory Update |
| Auto Order | An item configuration that bills the same customer more than once: either a set number of payments for a fixed amount, or recurring billing for amounts that vary. Other systems call this recurring billing, continuity, membership, or subscription. | Auto Order Tab Home → Item Management → Item Editor → Auto Order tab |
| Back End Order Entry (BEOE) | Enter orders straight into your back office without sending them through your web store, so you can take orders by phone, by email, or through a call-taker service. | Back End Order Entry Home → Order Management → Tools |
| Deprecated | A feature that still works but is being phased out and will eventually be removed. When you see the red deprecated warning in UltraCart, the feature keeps working for now, but you should move to its replacement and tell UltraCart support if that replacement does not meet your needs. | What "deprecated" means for you |
| Firebug | A browser extension for inspecting HTML, debugging JavaScript, and watching network traffic. Firebug was discontinued in 2017 and its features now live in the built-in developer tools of Firefox and Chrome. Older UltraCart tutorials still refer to it by name. | Testing Invisible Link Tracking |
| Return Email | Also called Abandon Sale Recovery. An email sent to a customer who left items in their cart, carrying a link that takes them back to the cart with those items still in it. Set one up as an Abandon Cart flow in StoreFront Communications. To attach a coupon to the email, add a Setup / Modify Cart step to the flow ahead of the send. | Abandon Cart flow Flow steps Home → Communications → Flows |
| Screen Branding | Configuration pages where you build a look and feel and apply it to the checkout process. You can create more than one theme. Other systems call these skins. | Screen Branding Themes Home → Configuration → Screen Branding Themes |
| Tokenization | Sending a card number to your payment gateway and storing the token it returns instead of the number itself. Holding a token rather than a card number reduces your PCI risk. | Stripe Gateway Integration |
