Overview
The Getting Started wizard appears as a widget on the UltraCart Dashboard immediately after account creation. It is a single-page JavaScript widget — all step content is loaded at once and shown/hidden dynamically as the merchant clicks through steps.
The wizard has 7 steps, shown as a checklist on the left side. The right panel displays the active step's content. Steps can be checked off manually without completing their actual setup (the checkboxes are independent of whether the underlying configuration was saved).
The wizard can be dismissed at any time (X button in widget header) and re-opened from the dashboard. A refresh icon (↺) in the widget header reloads the wizard widget.

⚠️ State defaults to Florida — UltraCart is headquartered in Florida. This state default will be wrong for most merchants and must be changed. A merchant who saves without updating the state will have incorrect tax/shipping origin calculations.

What the Wizard Does NOT Cover
The Getting Started wizard provides only a surface-level introduction. The following critical configurations must be completed separately after the wizard and are not mentioned:

Tax configuration — automatic sales tax nexus setup (required for US merchants)

Email notifications — order confirmation, shipping notification templates

Domain/DNS setup — connecting a custom domain to the StoreFront

SSL certificates — automatic with UltraCart, but merchants should verify

Fraud screening — MaxMind, Kount, or other fraud tools

Analytics integration — Google Analytics, Meta Pixel

Checkout customization — checkout fields, terms of service, coupon fields

Inventory management — stock levels, backorder behavior

Wizard Checkbox Behavior
The checkboxes next to each step in the left sidebar are manually managed — checking them off does NOT verify that the underlying setup was actually completed. The wizard has no validation. A merchant can check all 7 boxes without completing any actual configuration. These checkboxes are purely a visual tracking mechanism.
