Library
The Library is where reusable communication content lives. Rather than building every campaign and flow from scratch, you can start from something UltraCart publishes, something another merchant has shared with you, or something you built once and want to use again.
Main Menu → StoreFronts → (select your StoreFront) → Communication → Library
How the Library is organized
Two things divide the screen: what kind of content you are looking at, and whose library it came from.
Content type is the row of tabs across the top:
-
Campaigns
-
Flows
-
Transactional Emails
-
Emails
-
Post Cards
The tab you pick changes every section below it, so switching to Flows shows flows in all three libraries at once.
Source is the three sections down the page, each with its own search box and filter:
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| My Library | Content you have added or built, including anything you have pulled in from the other two. This is the only one you can publish from. |
| Public Library | Content published for all merchants, including UltraCart's predefined starting points. |
| Shared Library | Content another merchant has shared directly with you, rather than published publicly. |
Find something
Each section has its own search box, and each searches only that section. Searches need at least three characters.
For a narrower search, click Filter on any section. The filter offers type, style, industry, and category, and applies to that section alone.
Use something from the Public or Shared Library
Two different buttons appear on items you do not own, and the difference matters.
My Library copies the item into your own library without doing anything with it yet. Use it when you want to keep something for later, or when you want your own copy before making changes.
Start installs the item, creating a working campaign or flow from it that you can edit and send. UltraCart confirms before installing and tells you what it created.
So My Library is "save this", and Start is "build me one of these now".
An item you have already taken from the Public Library is marked Added From Public Library in My Library, so you can tell your own work apart from a copy of somebody else's.
Keep copies up to date
Library items are versioned, and a copy does not update itself when the original changes.
When the source of something you have taken has moved ahead of your copy, a Pull Update button appears on that item. It brings your copy up to the newer version.
Publish your own content
From My Library, you can make an item available to other merchants.
-
Publish puts it in the Public Library.
-
Publish Update appears once you have changed a published item, and pushes the newer version out to everyone using it. Until you do this, other merchants keep the version they already have.
-
Unpublish withdraws it from the Public Library.
Publishing is per item, not per library, so you can share one campaign without exposing the rest of your work.
Publishing an update does not force it on anyone. Merchants who took your item see a Pull Update button and decide for themselves when to take the new version.
