StoreFront Image Size Guide

Introduction​

UltraCart StoreFront themes are designed with optimal image sizes in mind. While other sizes may work, the recommended dimensions below ensure your storefront looks professional and consistent across devices.

In addition, UltraCart automatically optimizes your images using our content delivery network (CDN). This includes generating modern formats (AVIF and WebP) and responsive variants for different screen sizes. Merchants should focus on uploading a single high-quality starter image—UltraCart will handle the rest.

The following file formats are recommended:

  • JPEG/JPG

  • GIF

  • PNG

  • SVG

If you have your item images in a different format, such as TIFF, you’ll need to convert them to one of the above formats prior to uploading into UltraCart.

Note: For sliders, the focal point should be centered. Expect slight cropping on desktops (top/bottom) and mobile devices (left/right).

Automatic Optimization with the Image CDN​

UltraCart’s CDN enhances performance and compatibility by automatically creating:

  • Modern formats: AVIF and WebP, served when supported by the customer’s browser.

  • Responsive sizes: StoreFront Visual Builder image elements often support responsive image capabilities. For a single uploaded image, the system may generate up to 30 variants across breakpoints to deliver the optimal size for each device.

Merchants only need to provide a high-quality starting image in the 1–4 MP range. StoreFronts handles the optimization, resizing, and modern format conversion automatically.
